Fancy trishaws....
Plain old trishaw...
DJs Jianwen & Kemin from RADIO1003
What's this all about?
It's a Night Out @ Bras Basah & Bugis.
They are bringing us on a Trishaw Night Tour in the Bras Basah - Bugis area.
Here's a short video of some of the video clips I took with my camera. (not video cam, so it's not so clear...)
The full story here if you are interested.
It's a pictoral journey of the sights of the Bras Basah / Bugis area from a trishaw.
Let the boring couple, KeropokMan and KopiKosongGirl show you around 'Boring' Singapore.

Special Singapore Number Plates
Took a photo of this recently at the Airshow 2000.
You don't get to see such number plates in Singapore often. It's a special prefix number.
"AIRSHOW 108" - Nice number plate ya?
If you are wondering how the Singapore Number plate works and a bit of its history, you can read about it here.

Lion Dance Performance
The Lion Dance Performance at the company's lunch.
The four guys handling the lion costume are super fit! It's acrobatics with a lion costume on!
Look at how effortlessly the guy at the bottom can carry the guy resting on his head!
If you want to read more about Lion Dance, head over to wikipedia ;-)

Tiong Bahru Post Office
There was a time a few years ago, I wanted to move into these pre-war buildings.
I don't know why, but there is this old world charm to it.
One of the blocks has this old post office. The PO Boxes that I posted yesterday is partially hidden.
It's at the circular stairways.
Do you know that they sell almost everything inside post offices now?
I was amazed at that they are selling now.

It's opening! It's opening! Universal Studios Singapore is opening!
They announced it! You can get sneak peaks of what's behind this building from 14-21 February, 5 pm - 9 pm.
Admission is $10 which is rebated via the same value dining voucher.
Everyone can queue for tickets from Friday, 11:18 am. (hmm is that an auspicious time?)
By then the ticket counter lights will all be on!
No rides and shows yet though. That has to wait till March.

Universal Studios Singapore
I was there last week at Universal Studios Singapore. But it's not opened yet! I could only see this!
Could only take this photo, just like many other people who were there. (probably hotel guests?)
The soundtracks of Universal Studio productions could be heard over the speakers. ;-)
Wait for the news! I think they would open it by the Lunar New Year?
Let's see....

The LCG Bak Kwa Queue....
This was taken yesterday, almost a week to go before the Lunar New Year.
The queue is so so long!
There's a lady holding this sign informing that the BBQ Sliced Pork is sold out, that's not stopping people from queuing for stuff. (taken with my iPhone)
I asked this lady in blue, what time should I be here if I want to get the sliced pork? She and another lady who was there said, start queuing at 6 am, and you will get a chance to get it.
Are you a huge Bak Kwa fan?
Between the "Sliced" and "Minced" Bak Kwa, which is your favourite?

Singapore Airshow 2010
Momo and I went to the Singapore Airshow 2010 over the weekend.
('someone' tried to be smart and did not want to put on sun block and she's now as red as a lobster!).
Too many photos to post, but here's just two of it. I will load the rest into Flickr soon. (if you are interested)
Even before we got there, we can see the flags proudly flying away...
We realise that when there's a queue, it's always because the kids wants to get in a plane or something. (We wonder if it's the kid that wants to get in, or the parents who 'wants' the kid to get in. haha)
Anyone of you went there as well?

That huge Lantern at VivoCity
The Chinese (and also Vietnamese, Koreans etc) are celebrating the Lunar New Year next week!
Decorations for the Lunar New Year has been up for some time.
I only notice this yesterday. A huge Chinese Lantern!
If you are wondering how tall it is, look at the person in the photo to have a rough estimation.

View of Resorts World Sentosa
This was taken today, 4 Feb 2010.
Anytime now, they are going to announce the opening of the Casino (which I am not interested at all) and Universal Studios (I can't wait for this to open!)
It looks nice eh? The buildings you see are the hotels that has opened at RWS.
I regret I did not have enough time to visit Universal Studios at Hollywood, Los Angeles. We just drove past and was running out of time and did not go in. Sigh...

Somerset Skate Park
Saw this from the roof top of the new (not so new) mall, Orchard Central.
If you happen to be in that building, you should go to the top most floor!
This is the Somerset Skate Park from all the way up there...
But I don't have zoom lens, so this zoom in photo is a bit blur. (it looks as if it's taken using a lousy camera phone. hehe)
This is something I would never do!
Aren't they afraid of falling? ;-p

Old Books...
I guess everyone is doing 'spring cleaning' now in preparation for the Lunar New Year. It's time to give away things that you might need anymore.
This is a pile of old books that a more 'senior' colleague gave to two other colleagues who had young kids. (all below 5 years old)
The few of us were shocked when we heard these are the books she read to her little ones when they were young. The senior colleague will just read it as bed time stories?!?! (to kids that young??)
You know something? I have not read a single book in this pile!
Oh.. btw, the colleague who read to her kid when she was young, it's a 50-50 success rate. The eldest daughter went into the 'gifted programme' in school. The younger one is just doing ok.
Question of the day: Have you started your spring cleaning?

Theme Day for Feb 2009: Wood. (this is not wood)
Time flies! It's the first day of the month again. For February, the theme for City Daily Photo bloggers to post is "Wood". It would be interesting to see what people will be posting. I can imagine Tiger Woods, trees, gardens, etc. being posted by most people. I thought I will do something really different.
This is bamboo. It is NOT wood. It actually belongs to the 'grass' family and not 'trees'. Most people would think it is a tree and thus it is wood :-) I thought it was wood too previously. Visit wiki to read more if you want. :-)
Say hi to Mr Prawn. He just has a hot hot bath and it getting out of his 'bath tub'.
Mr Prawn will start visiting the City Daily Photo blogs soon!
If you want to join him in this visitation, here's the link to it:
