Judging from yesterday's comments, I think our friends from overseas have not really seen or tasted mooncakes :-)
Here's a view of what it looks inside. This one is the 'modern' ones with fillings that are different. This has macadamia nuts.
Traditional ones have salted egg yolks and some has melon seeds.
Even more contemporary ones are those made by Haagan Dazs! Ice cream mooncakes.
