On Thursday afternoon, was having lunch and colleague said, LOOK UP!
Wow, what's that? Quick quick, take photo, take photo.
Wondering what this is? I think many people in Singapore saw it. Many blogged about it too. Here's my 2 pictures too.
The sun was just too bright, I was just pointing my camera up and just snapping blindly.
Was taken between the new Arts Canteen and the School of Computing building.
This is called an Icebow. They are similar to rainbows but they are formed by diffraction through ice crystals instead of raindrops. You can do an online search for more if you wish to know more.
Beautiful shot. I've seen this before and snapped some pics of it. :) It's wonderful. You were quick eh. :P
ReplyDeleteWow. This is just amazing. I'd not heard of this before. Good to see such a good photograph.
ReplyDeleteWow, I didn't know that. Something new every day!
ReplyDeleteI never heard of it before, now I know. But in Singapore... sounds impossible.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I thought that shooting directly to the sun is not good to camera CCD, real?
I have neither seen nor heard of this phenomena. Unusual and interesting!
ReplyDeleteFirst time I've ever heard of the IceBow before.I don't think I saw it because I was busy at my cousin's house and was inside the house most of the time.Anyway, such a beautiful sight.
