Do you know I have never stepped into "Mustafa Centre"? I finally did a few nights ago.
But I did not stay long. I was too tired and they are huge! They sell almost everything!
I shall come back another day (or night), probably on the night that I can't sleep? They are open 24 hours!
Let the boring couple, KeropokMan and KopiKosongGirl show you around 'Boring' Singapore.

Large Purple Lantern at ION Orchard
It's past the Mid Autumn Festival, but I only noticed this large purple lantern at ION Orchard.
I guess I have not been in town that often. ;-)
It reminds me of Mrs Pots in Beauty and the Beast! LOL
If you noticed the little board on the first photo, this is the story.
Enjoy. (sorry, you got to squint to read it)

Myth Fortuna
From a far, you might think it's some lady doing Pilates or something.
Walking near to it, you realise it's a sculpture that's part of the Grand Prix season in Singapore.
Monitored by security surveillance. Hmmm.
Someone would want to steal it? Or turn the white sculpture into some technicolor creation?
I tried to perform the similar post and my hands got really shaky after that.
So I can't take a clear shot of the description.
Enjoy. I love sculptures!

2010 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix
The 2010 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix is over....
Congrats Fernando Alonso and the Ferrari Team!
Those surfing in from outside Singapore, did you turn on your TV and watch the race? Do you like the night lights in Singapore? ;-)
That's how my ticket looks like.
(There is a joke behind this, only a few friends will know. haha...)
See you next year!

It's the Singapore GP Recycle Challenge 2010!
This can be seen at the Singapore Flyer.
I am showing 2 of the cars here.
This is the Red Bull Racing Junior.
This is the SPontaneous by Singapore Polytechnic.
If you want to see the whole display, you can take a look at it here:

Car Park Space for Disabled and Pregnant Mums
I saw this car park space at the NTUC Income at Bras Basah and saw that the disabled parking space can be used by pregnant mums too!
What a brilliant idea isn't it? This reserved space is usually empty.
Oh by the way, what you see is a "parking space" and not a "parking lot".
I recently 'learned' the correct term.
Many people in Singapore will say they are looking for a parking lot in the car park.
A Parking Lot (American term) = Car Park (British term)
Wikipedia has a good explanation on the first paragraph, read it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parking_lot
We know how to use the term 'lot' when we say we want to buy that lot of vegetables or buy a lot of shares. We used it as a 'collection' of something. But when it comes to parking lot, we don't. We use it as a single space. (Yes, blame it on our teachers!)
Maybe it's not our fault or our teacher's fault, it's the people who make the sign in some car park's fault. Do you notice some car parks has an electronic sign that says "Lots Available" at the entrance of the car park. They are trying to say they have "375 car parks" inside their building. Wow.....

Woody Woodpecker @ Universal Studios Singapore
Ooo.. I used to watch Woody Woodpecker when I was a little kid.
Tonight I got see him at Universal Studios Singapore!
I used to think hmmm what can I see inside.
After 1 visit, I think I would want to go in again! I missed out so many other things inside!
I wonder if getting an Annual Pass is considered insane. :-p

Floating Platform now a field, where has the cauldron gone to?
A view from the Singapore Flyer last weekend. The Marina Bay Floating Platform that was used for the Opening and Closing ceremony of the Youth Olympic Game is now a field again.
I watched a show that says that the floating platform was certified to be a ship or something like that, but can't find the information anywhere online. I wonder if anyone has info on that.
Just wondering, is anyone as curious as I am? Did they preserve the Olympic Cauldron?
Is it moved somewhere to be preserved?
Or it's dismantled and recycled?

MRT trains need to sleep, but they sleep really early....
It's night time as you can see. It was around 11 PM.
Most trains have returned 'home' to their 'beds' to rest till the next morning.
Trains sleep early in Singapore.
I wonder when will Singapore get almost 24 hours of train service. We were told the tracks needs maintenance. Probably when the new lines open next year, they could try operate 24 hours but during say the 2 to 5 am hours, the system only runs 75% of the lines.
Commuters can still get around by going the 'long route'. They can traveling a longer route by circling around the lines or transferring between lines. Eg Buona Vista to Outram Park on the Green Line can be close for maintenance. Commuters can take the Yellow Line to get to the same destination. Those planners can think of the timing of closure right?
It's just like how the Underground in London always have closures of certain lines, but commuters still can get around by transferring around.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri
Wishing all my Muslim friends and readers:
Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Maaf Zahir dan Batin.
The Hari Raya lights at Geylang Serai.
In Singapore, for the major religious or / and ethnic group holidays, there are light ups. They are very popular and attract people to the area to join the festivities.
The photos are not very clear as I was in a moving vehicle.

F1 is next...
Events after events. There are so many things happening in Singapore.
No wonder the statistics says tourist have been arriving in droves this year.
Just right after the Youth Olympic Games, it's the Singapore F1 - 2010 Formula 1 Night Race.
The seats and the lighting is being set up. This photo was taken two days ago.
Anyone wants to sponsor a ticket in for me? LOL

Remember to tap in and tap out
In the beginning there was only 1 sign. The sign (on the left) that said:
Remember to tap in and tap out. Maximum fare will be charged if you forget to tap out on exit.
Then they discovered that passengers were too obedient!
They were tapping in and tapping out as asked, because the sign says maximum fares will be charged. But at the wrong timing.
Then they came out with a big NOTICE.

Just before the YOG
Looking at my memory card photos, I saw this photo and I now know what this was!
Before the YOG started, I took a river cruise and took some photos.
I did not know what this was for then.
It was the Olympic Flame Cauldron where the Olympic Flame was burning during the games.
You know, today the whole floating platform has been transformed?
Any hint of the YOG it's now only in the memories of those who attended it.
Time flies doesn't it?
