Snow Wash....

Was in the friend's car after midnight and he needed to wash his car. He said it's just too too dirty.
The 'snow wash' splattering over the car, and I took a shot of it.

Snow Wash

Our friend said the cheapest car wash is $4 near his place is at Yio Chu Kang Road's Caltex.

Momo said they wash their car cheaper. Momo and her dad gets coupon that gives them $3 car wash at SPC.

But this car wash was $7. It's a 24 hour car wash and this is at Esso at Dunearn Road.

So any of you know where the clean and cheap car wash are?
Or which other car wash opens 24 hours?

Looking at Pinnacle @ Duxton from a far....

Momo and I were invited to a friend's house recently for dinner. We realise that they have good view of the Pinnacle@Duxton!

You know what I am thinking as I view this? I want to stay there! The 26th and 50th floor as joined and they have a jogging track there.

pinnacle@duxton

Why jogging? I read this article that jogging or aerobic exercises can help grow brain cells! Yes, there are more and more articles by neuroscientists that tells us we can still grow gray matter!

I have become quite forgetful recently. I need to exercise more!

How did that car get into that parking lot?

Today as my colleagues and I was walking to get our lunch, we saw this!
We wondered how did the car get in there?

How did the car get to park there in the first place?

It's the weirdest lot in the whole car park!
We looked around, it was not those Just for Gags funny show right?

Now to see the old poles...

You saw the new poles yesterday. I thought I would take a photo of the old ones.
This was taken along Clementi Road.

Old bus poles

Looking at this, you think the new poles are justified? haha..
Have a great weekend!

The $1000 Bus Stop Sign Poles

I have been wanting to take these new bus stop sign poles, but I did not want to take any of those near by home. (hehe... )

I saw the ones at Clementi Stadium has been replaced, and my bus was not coming anytime soon. So I took a snap.

These new poles do look so much nicer than the old ones. But they don't really come cheap though. It costs around $1000 for these poles according to this news report.  But they are to last 20 years, so I guess 1K to last 20 years should be quite all right.

Bus Stop Sign Poles

One thing I like about these sign posts are the clearly marked bus stop numbers. (Yes, every single bus stop in Singapore has its own unique number!!) Some super old poles, the numbers are totally not visible anymore.

If you are bored now and want to know what time the next bus is coming to this particular bus stop, go to this website, (under option 2) key in any of the bus number (in red background) you see in the photo and enter this bus stop number 17141.

15 weeks without dengue

Just happened to pass by Redhill and saw this. It says that the Redhill Rise Precinct has been free from dengue fever for 15 weeks. Since I do not live in this area, I really thought it is 15 weeks.

Out of curiosity I googled to see if Redhill was a serious dengue breakout area. Guess what I read?
Someone blogged that the same sign has been around for 15 weeks, and the 15 weeks was since Nov 2009!

15 weeks without dengue

Now that reminds me of what a colleague said today. There are many projects that are always been suggested to be implemented, but once it is up, it also happens to be the end of it. Sigh...

Does that happen to your company or yourself too? You start something and never finish it? :-p

Someone said that the gym is the most packed in January every year. But as each month passes, those who made a resolution to exercise drops out!

You can't hide from the bus....

The new buses these days have surveillance cameras everywhere. You can see around 5 inside the bus, and a few more outside the bus.

You can't hide from the bus

Can you see the camera?
It's for catching other vehicles on the road that's not giving ways to buses!

Are you being served?

Remember that I was asked to come up with a mission to test the service in Singapore?
Read about it at the www.AreYouBeingServed.com.sg website.

Bugis Water Fountain - where kids always get themselves wet.

It has been more than a year since I came to Bugis Junction. I was here on yesterday and I noticed that whenever I am here, there are always kids getting themselves wet playing with water!

Bugis Water Fountain

The parents of these kids actually encourage them to play with the water! They all come with an extra set or two of clothing!

Watching the Eclipse....

My colleagues and I just (4:05 pm) went out of office to view the eclipse. But we could not see anything.
All we could see are dark clouds!

Sigh... No eclipse for us to see! We were hoping to catch the first partial eclipse to be seen in Singapore for 2010!

eclipse, but only clouds!

But the Singapore Science Centre has a "International Year of Astronomy Partial Solar Eclipse" at 3:30 - 5:00 PM today.  Link of event here.

Do they have special equipments that allows you to see the eclipse through the thick clouds?

This is a colleague's Google Nexus One that arrived today.
You can go to his web to read about his Tech Week Adventure. :-)

Google Nexus One

We are like slowly seeing colleagues either going to the iPhone camp or the Android camp.
At home, we are like iPhone and Android camps too.

Are you an iPhone or Android user? Or are you the etc camp? lol..

Bud Naked

Saw this at a local supermarket and took a photo of it with my camera phone.

On the first glance I thought why is there refill pack of dishwashing liquid doing in this section?
Then I realise it's wine in a "plastic refill pack" packaging!

Wine in a pack? I thought it was a refill pack for washing liquid

Oh yes, the name is eye catching too! haha...

They are so innovative eh?

Magic Mouse

I got a DHL package delivered to my office today. Turns out it's a surprise from the gf. I think it's suppose to be the Christmas present? haha

But when you order it online, it takes 7-10 days (this one took 2 weeks) to deliver compared to 24 hours previously. Wonder if there's going to be a new update to this hardware?

Magic Mouse

It's a magic mouse. That's the magic one resting on the Macbook Pro.

Been using the mighty mouse for years and the small little button in the middle gets on my nerves. The magic mouse solves that problem.  Almost everything about it is nice, except that it does not move as fast as I am used to on other mice.

Faculty of Dentistry, NUS

The Faculty of Dentistry has a new building in NUS. It looks very modern from the outside! Faculty of Dentistry Reminds me that I need to visit the dentist soon though. I don't really like visiting the dentist. Do you?

Masjid Angullia

It's Friday and let me post something relevant to many Muslim friends on Fridays.
This is Masjid Angullia at Serangoon Road.

From the MUIS (Islamic Religious Council of Singapore) website, it says this mosque attracts the most nationalities of worshipers.

Masjid Angullia
It was built in 1970 from the funds of a wealthy Angullia family.

Singapore Litter Free

Do you realise something? Humans are very adaptive. By just looking at the photo, you know what it's trying to tell you.

When I look at this photo, it just makes me wanna laugh. Look at it. They seem to be singing and rejoicing.

Singapore Litter Free

People in Singapore needs to be reminded to keep this country clean. There are posters everywhere and in different languages to keep reminding us.

Kreta Ayer Neighbourhood Police Post

A little building at the end of a park. Surrounded by tall buildings.
I am wondering how old this building is?

Kreta Ayer NeighbourhoodPolice Post

Oh, I know what people come here for. To register yourself if you are a citizen and want to speak at the Speaker's Corner.

I have never heard anyone speak at the Speaker Corner. Have you?

Hybrid Car Parking Lots

Hmmm I wonder why I am posting photos from inside carparks these few days.
I saw this yesterday.

One shopping mall in Singapore has special lots for hybrid cars. They also have charging stations for electric cars.

Hybrid Car Park
Hmm. I wonder if I'll get to test drive one. Or some car companies will let me try it for a year! ;-)

Gas Detector

A friend picked me up and we went to have lunch at Biopolis.
Saw this in the carpark! (and took this with a phone camera, so it's grainy)

gas detector

Call me 'suaku' / 'mountain turtle' (a local term a person who hides away and do not know what's happening around), but this is the first time I have seen a gas detector.

DP Theme Day for Jan 2010: Changes

The theme for this month is "Changes" for the City Daily Photo bloggers.
This bridge has not been changing except more and more weeds are growing around it. It's the old railways that existed long ago in Singapore.

The wooden sleepers must have been around for the longest time 'sleeping'. haha..
