In Singapore, the authorities control the flow of cars into certain areas by charging people when they want to enter.
The system is call ERP - Electronic Road Pricing.
This is a picture of the gantry, taken a few hours ago, when I walk past it.
No, human walking past do not get charged. haha...
Anyone in Singapore can guess where this gantry is? :-)

Mayor Bloomberg of NYC is considering just that. He wants to impose special fares for cars entering Manhattan during rush traffic hours.
